Daqing Oilfield Construction Group Co. Ltd. (DOCG) is inviting applications from qualified Tanzanians for eight (8) electrician positions to support the Marine Storage Terminal (MST) Project in Chongoleani, Tanga.

DOCG, through its Daqing Oilfield Construction Design and Research Institute, is an international engineering and sci-tech enterprise known for delivering large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects.

Position: Electrician (08 Posts)

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Tanzanian nationality (mandatory).

• VETA Certificate in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering (Grade I, II, or III, depending on role level).

• Trade Test Certificate (recognized by Tanzania’s Ministry of Labour, Youth, Employment & Persons with Disability).

• Ordinary Diploma or FTC in Electrical Engineering (preferred for senior-level roles).

• 5+ years of practical experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair on industrial or construction projects.

• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.

• Familiarity with Tanzania’s Electrical Installation Regulations and EWURA standards.

• Valid EWURA Electrical Installation License (mandatory—applications without this license will not be considered).

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in compliance with EWURA regulations and company standards.

• Ensuring safe operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in line with OSHA Tanzania guidelines.

• Troubleshooting electrical faults and carrying out effective repairs.

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to execute work accurately.

• Testing, calibrating, and inspecting systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

• Preparing and maintaining accurate maintenance logs and reports.

• Coordinating with supervisors and project engineers to align tasks with project schedules.

• Installing and maintaining power distribution systems, lighting, and control systems.

• Adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental practices.

• Providing technical support and mentorship to junior electricians and apprentices.

Contract & Work Location

• Contract Type: Fixed-term (specific to project duration).

• Work Location: Chongoleani Ward, Tanga City.

• Accommodation & Meals: DOCG will provide food and camp accommodations in its temporary facilities. Use of camp facilities is mandatory for selected candidates.

• Applicants from outside Tanga do not need to stamp their application letters at the Chongoleani Ward Office (this applies only to Chongoleani natives).
