The Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank Limited (TADB) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Business Development Officer II. Job Purpose
The Business Development Officer II will provide operational and technical support in the design, implementation, and monitoring of projects that strengthen agricultural, livestock, and fisheries value chains. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, government institutions, and private sector partners to ensure sustainable development outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:

Support the preparation, coordination, and implementation of strategic projects in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

Assist in the design, piloting, and scaling of projects tailored to different agricultural clients and value chain actors.

Participate in project appraisals, feasibility studies, and due diligence processes.

Collect, validate, and analyze project data to support monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.

Prepare progress reports that highlight achievements, risks, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Collaborate with government agencies, private sector partners, consultants, and DFIs to ensure effective project coordination.

Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building activities for project beneficiaries.

Promote the integration of climate-smart and sustainable practices across projects.

Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and propose practical solutions.

Ensure full compliance with TADB’s policies, development finance standards, and environmental and social safeguards.

Maintain accurate records and documentation to support accountability and institutional learning.

Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Competencies
Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, agricultural economics, agribusiness, development studies, project management, banking, business administration, or related fields.

Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in project management, agricultural development, development finance, or related areas.

Skills & Knowledge:
-
Strong understanding of agricultural value chains (crops, livestock, fisheries, aquaculture, agroforestry, irrigation, processing, and distribution).

Practical exposure to project appraisals, feasibility studies, M&E, and stakeholder engagement.

Analytical ability in both financial and non-financial project evaluation.

Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.

Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
