Purpose of the Position

The CPiE officer provides child protection support to the project team in the program area. The CPiE Officer shall ensure excellent relationships with all stakeholders involved in the project, especially implementing and other operating partners within the program area, including UNHCR, OPM, and Kikuube DLG.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in social work and social administration, child development, child protection, development studies, social sciences, or any relevant field with wide demonstrated relevant experience in managing child protection in emergency programs.

At least 3 years of professional experience in implementing CPiE programs in a humanitarian context.
Demonstrated skills and experience in promoting CPiE programming

Experience and skills in the use of participatory approaches and rights-based programming.
Possess the ability to work with different partners, local authorities, local organizations, and NGOs, to develop and maintain positive collaboration and relationships.

Demonstrated experience in networking with other development partners in the field.
Past exposure and experience with the community, stakeholders, child work, and coordination.

Responsibilities of the Child Protection in Emergency Officer

Building protective environments for refugee and host communities in which children and adolescents affected by the crisis thrive, safe from all forms of violence, including SGBV, as well as have access to appropriate age- and gender-responsive protective services.

Ensure the capacity of institutional and community-based child protection mechanisms to identify, prevent, and respond to child protection risks (in particular SGBV) is strengthened in both refugee settlements and host communities

He/she supports the Project Manager in strengthening the community-based child protection systems and ensures adequate and quality CP services for children, including case management services, and Psychosocial Support (PSS) are provided in refugee and host communities.

Ensure children and adolescents in refugee settlements and host communities have access to information and services to build their self-protection capacity and resilience against any form of violence, particularly SGBV
Ensure most vulnerable children and adolescent girls have access to safe, quality, and inclusive primary and secondary education
