Profile of the Opportunity

• This exciting opportunity is based at our Natural Formulas Manufacturing Division in Hayward, California, where innovation meets precision.
• The Quality Control (QC) Sample Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that NeoLife products meet the company’s high standards of quality, purity, and consistency.
• The QC Sample Specialist is responsible for managing and tracking quality control test samples throughout the entire process—from the moment they are received in the lab to final archiving.
• This role is ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about maintaining the integrity of premium health and wellness products.

The Major Tasks

• Sample Management: Receive, collect, and maintain documentation for all manufactured, packaged, and international products, ensuring traceability and accuracy.

• External Laboratory Coordination: Collaborate with outside laboratories to coordinate specific testing requirements, timelines, and pricing. Work closely with the accounting department to issue purchase orders as needed.

• Data and Documentation: Perform system transactions related to sample release, rejection, expiration dates, and heavy metal data entry. Maintain accurate records for requisitions and quality control reports.

• Global Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for international NeoLife offices regarding product release and rejection results.

• Certificate and Compliance Review: Carefully review incoming Certificates of Analysis and packaging documentation for accuracy, issuing supporting documentation required for shipping and export.

• Recordkeeping: File QC test reports electronically and maintain regional compliance logs, including African and European records, heavy metal data, and contaminant reports.

• Equipment and Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors to ensure timely maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory instruments.

• Sample Retention: Organize and manage QC retain samples, retrieving stored samples when needed for testing or review.

• Routine Laboratory Tasks: Perform daily operational duties such as balance calibration, protein testing, and pH meter calibration in accordance with the laboratory’s chemical hygiene plan.

• Safety and Compliance: Follow all lab safety protocols and maintain compliance with NeoLife’s quality and environmental standards.

• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the QC Manager in support of department goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Needed Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field (1–2 years of experience preferred).

• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Physical capability to lift or move up to 25 lbs as part of routine work activities.
