The Relationship Officer will play a key role in acquiring new customers, nurturing client relationships, and promoting personal banking solutions. Key Responsibilities

As a Relationship Officer in the Personal Banking department, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Business Development

   • Proactively promote and sell the bank’s liability products to attract low-cost deposits.

   • Source new current and savings accounts across various market segments.

   • Generate leads through referrals, walk-ins, cold calls, and personal networks.

2. Client Engagement and Advisory

   • Understand customer financial needs and recommend tailored banking products.

   • Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and high retention rates.

   • Provide investment and financial advice to grow the client portfolio.

3. Marketing and Cross-Selling

   • Conduct targeted promotions of personal banking products and services.

   • Cross-sell related products, including secured loans, debit cards, mobile banking, and insurance.

4. Due Diligence and Compliance

   • Ensure strict compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations and internal bank policies when opening new accounts.

   • Conduct eligibility screening for credit facilities in line with the latest credit policies.

   • Prepare accurate and complete loan application documentation.

5. Monitoring and Reporting

   • Perform pre- and post-loan monitoring visits to assess client repayment ability.

   • Achieve weekly and monthly deposit mobilization and loan disbursement targets.

   • Submit daily and periodic activity reports to the Branch Manager detailing client follow-ups, status updates, and business growth.

Qualifications and Experience Required for Relationship Officer Personal Banking post

• Academic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.

• Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and client management within a financial institution.

• Industry Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of the banking industry, including products, services, and regulatory framework.

  • Familiarity with the personal banking landscape in Dar es Salaam and other urban centers.

• Technical and Behavioral Skills:
