Position Overview: Senior Declaration Officer

TAHAFresh is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Declaration Officer to join their Arusha-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to advance their career in logistics and customs operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Declaration Officer will be responsible for managing the customs clearing and forwarding processes, ensuring full compliance with Tanzanian regulations and timely delivery of goods. Key duties include:

• Advising clients on required documentation for import and export clearance

• Communicating updates regarding TRA (Tanzania Revenue Authority) systems and customs regulations

• Handling customs declaration procedures and documentation

• Coordinating with internal departments to ensure prompt cargo clearance

• Supporting the finance team by providing accurate declarations for client billing

• Ensuring timely follow-up on shipping documents to prevent storage fees

• Assisting in quotation preparation in coordination with the sales team

• Organizing and storing critical customs documents including PVoC, certificates, and bonds

• Managing communication with government bodies and ensuring timely tax payments

• Supervising the declarations team to maintain documentation quality

• Preparing daily operational reports for management

• Performing additional duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

• A Diploma or Degree in Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role (preferred)

• Deep understanding of TRA regulations, TANeSW/Single Window system, and customs processes

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili

• Candidates must be below 35 years of age
