NTU International on the Post of Social Development Specialist

NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EU-funded project called the Energy Access and Resilience Initiative for Northern Uganda and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project.

The overall objective of this assignment is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all in Northern Uganda, with a focus on vulnerable groups, productive use of energy, and rural communities, in line with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the National Electrification Strategy.

Location: Gulu, with fieldwork in key districts across Northern Uganda.
Duration: The indicative start date is 15 October 2025, and the period of implementation of the specific contract will be 365 days from this date. Indicative end date: 14 October 2026.

The Post of Social Development Specialist

Qualifications and skills:

Graduated with a B.A. in Social Sciences, Social Work, and Administration from a recognized university;
Postgraduate in sociology, project planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, or any other related but relevant field.

Fluency in oral and written English.

General professional experience:

Must have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in environmental and social analysis of infrastructure projects, including transmission lines and distribution networks.

Specific professional experience:

Must have participated in the implementation of social management plans and resettlement action plans on the ground for at least two (2) similar projects in the last five (5) years.
